Hello everybody,

For the fourth lesson with Mr. Kent Cheong, we learnt how to cascading style sheet to style html which includes the difference between the internal and external style sheet. It is really interesting and fun learning to do all these interesting facts on html as all these are really useful for our future because we most probably are going to use a lot of things on internet. We have learnt how to set the font size, the font family, the colour and so on and so forth. We have seen what are the difference between a html document would be like with and without the cascading style sheet. There is really a great difference. Even the background and words can also have colours with cascading style sheet! Having learning all these, we are required to do some hands on works on cascading style sheet with our partner. Guess what, all these looks simple when we saw it on the slides but it is totally different when we do it ourselves. It seems to be a really hard thing to master as all the codes and encodings are really complicated to me to remember! Well, I will go and look for more information on cascading style sheet to understand more. That's all for today, folks!

Lesson 3

Hi all,

Today's lesson was on how to create a webpage with notepad! How fun it was having to see how all the signs and codes converted into bold or italic and stuff like that! I have learnt the html codes example, new lines, paragraphing, header, title, body, the formating of the webpage and so on and so forth. All this things are all very interesting which I have never go into before. I have never know how to create a link, or a webpage, and never have I thought that actually a webpage actually requires one to put in alot of time.If you have never look for the information on how to create a webpage, learn now as it is a very useful tool in your daily life!

The technology is too advanced and it is still improving. Since this is not a very good thing and I think that we should stop that, but how? I think that people should stop relying that much on handphones and emails so that we would be more resilent and independent. Now, people look down on the africans as they are not that high-tech. However if a man from the city and an african were to go out in the wild and survive, the african would certainly live and the city man would pass away. Now people does not even know how to take care if themselves and rely too much on human technology!

I think that people are relying too much on electronic devices. Wherever we go, we would see people using sms-ing, calling, so on and so forth... I think that if people do not have handphones or taken away from the internet they would not be able to live as all the meetings or events are being discussed on the internet or handphone. If one were to be late, he or she would just use the handphone to postpone the meeting or have a reminder to remind themselves. If it goes on like this, then people would turn lazy as they think that whatever events would be able to remind themselves through the high-tech devices. People think that they can communicate better on internet as it is more accessible and can make friends there but actually it does not really help. I suggest if people really want to make friends, it would be more effective going out there and talk to the friends.

I think that we people must use less on internet and handphones but it seem impossible now as almost the whole world is using handphones and even the school is using internet to teach students to do work.

Reflection on 57 slides

Hi everybody,

Today I had my first lesson with Mr. Kent Cheong. Though I there are only five minutes of lesson today due to the competition of water-polo finals and we are supposed to go there to support our seniors, I still learnt quite a few things on online and internet on the blog post he posted on http://is-wnm.ning.com/.

I have learnt that the world of internet is actually very big. Only now that I have known that anybody can go on the internet and anybody can see what you have posted on internet. Therefore, I think that whenever we post something on the internet, we ought to be careful of what we write on the internet so as to not embarrass or defame anyone as that could get you into big trouble like to go to the court.

Never have I thought that the three letters that are most often found on internet "www" actually stands for World Wide Web!

Previously, I only know how to send e-mails and how to chat online but I have never thought or wanted or knew how all these work! Now I have known how all this works. Neither did I know the history of internet. Technology are really very advanced now. These are the main thoughts that I have learnt from the meaningful 57 slides that contained a lot of interesting facts. Now that I know that internet is actually very interesting, I would certainly find out more on it!
